H. Randolph Bailey, MD, currently serves as Director of the Residency Training Program/Colon & Rectal Surgery and Clinical Professor of Surgery for the University of Texas Medical School at Houston.
His extensive experience includes serving as Clinical Professor at the University of Texas Medical School and Clinical Professor of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Bailey has been in private practice in colon and rectal surgery in Houston since 1974.
Dr. Bailey is a past president of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and has served on many medical committees and boards, including the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. He has also served on the Residency Review Committee / Colon & Rectal Surgery, and the Houston Chapters of the American Cancer Society and the United Ostomy Association.
Dr. Bailey belongs to numerous professional societies and hospital committees, and has received numerous honors and awards including being named one of Good Housekeeping Magazine's "Best Cancer Doctors in the U.S." in 1993.
Dr. Bailey earned his Bachelor's Degree from Rice University in Houston and his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He completed his fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Ferguson-Droste-Ferguson Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
