This symposium contains the spectrum of different techniques used for laparoscopic colorectal operations.   The experienced presenters each demonstrate the techniques and tips they use in their practice.

Objectives At the conclusion of this session, viewers should be able to:   a) understand safe methods of abdominal access and different trocar placement patterns; b) describe alternative surgical approaches to the right and left colon; and c) comprehend the difficulties of dissection in the pelvis.
