This symposium contains the spectrum of different techniques used for laparoscopic colorectal operations.   The experienced presenters each demonstrate the techniques and tips they use in their practice.

5. Left Colon – Sigmoid-Flexure, Resection • Lat-Med Left Colon Mobilization • Entry Lesser Sac/Omental Peel • HA Splenic Flexure

Objectives At the conclusion of this session, viewers should be able to:   a) understand safe methods of abdominal access and different trocar placement patterns; b) describe alternative surgical approaches to the right and left colon; and c) comprehend the difficulties of dissection in the pelvis.
