Case mix/ number of cases: Approximately 70% of the cases involve the abdominal colon and 30% anorectal procedures. There is a large endoscopy experience (250 cases/year).

Strengths of program: The faculty has diverse training and age spread and is made up of dedicated geographical full-time physicians. The facility is a large, multidisciplinary institution with all specialties and residencies represented interacting under one roof.

Clinic or office experience: Both are offered with outpatient clinic 3 hours weekly and office 4 hours weekly rotating with different attending staff.

Interaction with general surgery residents: The service includes 2 general surgery residents and medical students.

Conferences: The conference schedule includes a weekly didactic lectureship with monthly mortality, Tumor Board and morbidity and journal club.

Anorectal physiology availability: Physiologic studies consisting of manometry and defecography are available.

Outside rotations: None are offered.

Research year: None available.

Requirement for paper: A scientific paper is required for completion of the program.

Opportunty to attend meetings: The resident attends the annual ASCRS meeting.
