CREST® — ASCRS's Premier Educational Portal

ColoRectal Educational Systems Template, commonly known as CREST®, is the premier online educational portal for physicians interested in colorectal surgery. A complimentary benefit for all ASCRS members, CREST® offers health care providers an interactive venue to review all aspects of colorectal disease to ensure their delivery of the highest quality of patient care.

CREST® is part of ASCRS' Online Learning Center, now hosted on a new platform that offers an improved, user-friendly experience to easily access CREST® modules.

To assist with navigating the new online learning center, please use the "How To" guides below:

Features of CREST®

CREST® is a dynamic online learning program offering numerous features:

  • Topics are arranged by the six pillars of colorectal disease: perioperative, malignancy, anorectal disease, benign disease, pelvic floor and miscellaneous.
  • Each topic offers learning materials in a variety of mediums, such as narrated presentations, videos, journal articles, and book chapters, to encourage learning in the ways users find most helpful.
  • A post-assessment and evaluation is available after the user completes all of the required content in each topic.
  • Optimized to be mobile friendly, the program renders equally well across computers, tablets, and smartphones.
  • Review the program materials anytime, even after you've already completed the module.

CREST® Weekly Curriculum Modules

New modules, called Weekly Curriculum, are introduced regularly. These smaller modules are available as a member benefit for review. The modules are eligible for 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ upon completion of the post-test for a small fee ($10 for members). To find "Weekly Curriculum" modules, look for the "Weekly Curriculum" icon. Browse the Weekly Curriculum menu regularly to access fresh content.

CREST® for Program Directors

CREST® for Program Directors (CREST®PD) is the companion piece to CREST®, which allows program directors to manage their residents’ progress through the educational portal.

CREST®PD is temporarily unavailable. ASCRS is transitioning this program to a new platform and it will be available in mid-2018.

Nonmember Access

Not a member of ASCRS? Access to CREST® for nonmembers is currently unavailable. Information on nonmember subscriptions will be placed on this page as it becomes available.

The American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS) wishes to recognize the exhaustive efforts of the CREST® Committee to bring this project to life. The Society appreciates the interest, devotion, and hard work of all who participated in the development of CREST®.
