CREST® Core Subject - Endorectal Ultrasound | ASCRS

Learn the techniques and clinical applications of endorectal and endoanal ultrasound, including staging of rectal cancer and assessment of fecal incontinence and fistula. 

At the conclusion of the module, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the basic principles of endorectal ultrasound physics.
  2. List the clinical indications for use of endorectal and endoanal ultrasound.
  3. Set up common ultrasound equipment and troubleshoot any problems.
  4. Interpret ultrasound images for rectal cancer staging.
  5. Interpret ultrasound images of fistula anatomy and fecal incontinence workup.

As a Core Subject, it is eligible for 2 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
