This module reviews the literature on the pro and cons of performing subtotal colectomy for patients with Lynch Syndrome.

After reviewing this module, learners should be able to:

  1. Describe the advantage of the subtotal colectomy with individuals with Lynch Syndrome
  2. Describe the limitations of the subtotal colectomy with individuals with Lynch Syndrome
  3. Explain the proper surveillance after subtotal or segmental resection with individuals with Lynch Syndrome.

Segmental vs. Subtotal Colectomy in HNPCC, a Core Subject, is a review of diverticular disease that is divided into three parts. It is eligible for 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
