CREST Weekly: Preoperative diagnostics in the evaluation of constipation | ASCRS

This CREST weekly module will provide an overview on constipation. Constipation is a very common condition, and it is divided into 3 categories: Slow transit constipation, constipation predominant - irritable bowel syndrome and pelvic obstructive constipation. Adequate diagnosis and classification of the constipation is essential in its management, therefore selecting the right test is key. Among the tests most frequently used in the diagnosis of constipation, we can mention sitz mark colonic transit study, scintigraphy, capsule study, anal manometry and defecography.

As a Core Subject, it is eligible for 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
