ASCRS Annual Scientific Meetings have a rich history of providing outstanding education in colorectal conditions as well as networking opportunities, 

2018 Annual Meeting -- Nashville, TN

The 2018 ASCRS Annual Scientific Meeting in Nashville, TN, was a success in many ways! Registration was the second highest in ASCRS history for a non-Tripartite meeting. More than 1,900 physicians/health care providers attended, including 415 international attendees. The meeting featured workshops, symposia and sessions on topics directly related to colon and rectal surgery so attendees could apply what they learned. Networking opportunities were second to none. The Women’s Luncheon and the Residents’ Breakfast were at capacity. At the Welcome Reception at the Country Music Hall of Fame, the mechanical bull got a workout, which brought out everyone’s inner cowboy or cowgirl.


2017 Annual Meeting -- Seattle, WA

The 2017 ASCRS Annual Scientific and Tripartite Meeting in Seattle, WA, was an outstanding success! The meeting had the highest attendance in ASCRS history, with more than 2,180 physicians/health care providers, including 792 international attendees from 59 countries.  Nearly 700 exhibitors participated and supported the meeting.

The program drew from record-setting 1,018 abstract submissions with 154 accepted as oral presentations and 751 accepted as e-poster presentations. Many exciting programs from last year returned to a sell-out audience, such as the workshops Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision (taTME), Advanced Robotics in Colon and Rectal Surgery, and AIN and HRA: What the Colorectal Surgeon Needs to Know.  Other popular events included e-posters of Distinction, Meet the Professors Breakfasts and Young Surgeons Mock Orals and More.

The Welcome Reception at the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPop) treated guests to delicious food and featured the museum’s collection of more than 140,000 pop culture artifacts and recorded interviews with thousands of musicians and filmmakers who have influenced contemporary culture. 

The Tripartite Gala was held on Tuesday, June 13 and provided an international atmosphere for all to enjoy. The evening featured dancing, reminiscing and a full menu of international foods to honor our tripartite attendees.


2016 Annual Meeting -- Los Angeles, CA

The 2016 ASCRS Annual Meeting, held in Los Angeles, CA, was a resounding success, with more than 1,950 physicians and other health care providers participating in the program. The meeting featured exciting new programs, such the Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision (taTME) symposium, the Ventral Rectopexy: An International Perspective symposium and the workshop Young Surgeons Mock Orals: “Your Turn in the Hot Seat.”

At the end of this incredibly popular annual meeting, Dinner Dance attendees were treated to entertainment provided by Dave Coulier, who shot to fame in the late 1980s as Joey Gladstone on the ABC sitcom Full House, and Mark Cendrowski, a highly regarded TV director best known as the driving force behind CBS’ Big Bang Theory.


2015 Annual meeting -- Boston, MA

The 2015 Annual Meeting in Boston broke all attendance records for physicians and other health care providers with 2,080 registrants. In addition, 782 exhibitors representing 96 companies showcased their products and services in 162 exhibit booths.

The Boston program featured 26 symposia that provided the most advanced education in colorectal conditions. Highlights of other programs that served the quality and safety emphasis included symposia on improving outcomes, such as “Quality Initiatives in Clinical Practice, “Rectal Cancer: Optimizing Outcomes through Techniques” and “Ostomies: Location, Creation, and Complications.”

The annual Dinner Dance let everyone relax, enjoying the company of friends and outstanding music and dancing from one of Boston’s best local bands. It also featured a special comedy routine presented by Dr. Jon Palmintier, Broussard, LA.
