Salary/Year: $62,000 

Case Mix/Number of Cases: Projected to be approximately 500 procedures with emphasis on anorectal, abdominal (open, laparoscopic and robotic) and fiberoptic endoscopy. 

Strengths of Program: Primary teaching site is Tampa General Hospital, which is a Level I Trauma Center with a large surgery and sub-specialty surgical training programs. USF has two new outpatient clinic centers in which the resident participates. An additional teaching site is the James A. Haley VA Hospital. This program consists of five Board certified faculty members. Program Director, Dr. Jorge Marcet, has 26 years of GME experience, as well as multiple publications in journals and textbooks.

Clinic and/or Office Experience:  Weekly outpatient clinic experience. 

Interaction with General Surgery Residents: There are two general surgery residents assigned to the colon rectal service monthly. CR resident also attends weekly General Surgery, M&M and Grand Rounds. 

Conferences: Daily: Teaching rounds; Weekly: teaching conference, M&M conference, research conference and preoperative conference; Bi-monthly: GI tumor conference; Monthly: Journal Club and board review sessions.

Outside Rotations: Not Available. 

Research Year: Optional. 

Requirement for Paper: At least one abstract/manuscript is expected. 

Opportunity to Attend Meetings: Educational funds are available for attending professional meetings.
