Case Mix/Number of Cases:  Currently with our current faculty: > 700 abdominal/laparoscopic cases/year, >700 anorectal cases would be available to the CR resident.


Strengths of Program: Very strong emphasis on MIS CRS, virtually all of our abdominal cases are done laparoscopically and virtually all of our pelvic surgery is done robotically, including LAR/APR and ventral rectopexy.  We have brisk, frequent and collegial relationships with gastroenterology, interventional GI, GynOnc, UroGyn departments.  Multidisciplinary rectal cancer clinic, weekly Med-Surg GI conference, monthly pelvic floor conference.


Clinic and/or Office Experience: Weekly


Interaction with General Surgery Residents:  Yes, two services 1 with GS CR and the other with CRS resident + PGY 1, 3, no competition for cases especially index cases + Harvard medical students


Conferences: CR Didactic, Med-Surg GI, GI Tumor board, pelvic floor, IBD, dept surgery M&Ms, CR M&M’s, interhospital clinical case presentations teleconference


Anorectal Physiology:  Through GI


Outside Rotations:  No
